a warm fuzzy feeling
Last night I went to dinner at Chez Papa with some friends, I definitely would recommend it. The food was fantastic and the bill for 5 wasn't outrageous which never seems to happen when going out with a group. I ended up ordering 3 appetizers instead of an entree (foie gras (seared), mussels, and kobe tartare). We all order something and ending share family style It was a fun dinner one of my favorites so far in the city. I've found the spontaneous night that just happen and where nothing is planned out always seem to have the best endings. Fanny and I some how talked jose and apo into seeing twilight : new moon with us. (but shh they'd like to keep that a secret :) I have to say i was totally disappointed. The audience seem to be laughing more at some of the ridiculous lines being said than swooning over edward or the other kid... jacob. At one point jacob half naked bravely climbs Bella's tree and swings into her room like her knight and shinning armor and then utter the word "Hey" as if the just randomly bummed into each other on the playground, you could barely hear his next line over the mocking of the crowd. I do have to say the movie got better at the end, the scene with Dakota Fanny although brief brought the excitement that the movie was lacking. I looked over and both guys were on the edge of their seats actually enjoying themselves!
After the movie the four of us walked the embarcadaro looking at the newly put up christmas lights. They always remind me of being a kid and piling into my parents car and circling the neighborhood, to checkout the houses decorated in glowing red, green, blue and yellow lights. As the neighborhood got older and the children grew up and moved out the light and decorations became less. It's probably the tradition I miss the most, everything seems so magical in lights. The weather is getting icy finally and with the decorations its starting to look a lot like christmas! We walked to the ice skating rink it was 3am no one was out, except for the guard watching our every move. We admired the ice and the cold it let off, the city was silent, i love it like that everyone asleep. It feels like we're the only people who lived here. What a fantastic night and feeling!
